Subject: ColorWheel (HSL) — add a numeric readout (hue, range bounds, shift)
Hi,
I’m a wedding photographer and I use the ColorWheel (HSL) a lot to keep colors consistent across sets of several hundred images. The tool is excellent and very intuitive, but it lacks a numeric readout.
At the moment, nothing indicates:
- the hue (in degrees) of the selected color;
- the bounds of the range defined by the two handles;
- the exact value of the Hue shift.
As a result, adjustments are made “by eye” and are hard to reproduce exactly from one image to the next, or to recover from one session to another — unless everything is saved as a preset.
My request: add a numeric readout, ideally editable by keyboard, for the hue angle, the two selection bounds, and the Hue shift. It would complement the visual approach rather than replace it, and bring the precision and repeatability that are essential to a professional workflow.
It is possible to copy/paste changes from one image to another (and you can choose which specific changes you’d like to apply - for instance “Color - HSL” or “Local Adjustments”.
However this will paste over any existing changes you’ve made to e.g. local adjustments, so you can’t edit an entire image with custom layers then paste in the colour changes you made to one of those layers in another image. You have to guess them - which is exactly your complaint.
It would be very nice to have some numerical values to work with.
