Color Efex 8 Interface: You Fixed What Wasn't Broken

Seriously disappointed with the Color Efex Pro redesign in Nik 8. Two major workflow killers:

1. Truncated preset names
The left panel cuts off custom filter/preset names with no way to widen it, no tooltips, no settings. Makes organizing a professional filter library impossible. This basic functionality worked fine before—why break it?

2. Chaotic bouncing filter stack
The right panel becomes a mess with multiple filters. Constant jumping and resizing as filters expand/collapse destroys visual orientation. Previous versions had a stable interface. You “fixed” something that didn’t need fixing and made serious multi-filter work frustrating.

What’s needed:

  • Resizable left panel or full-name tooltips

  • Compact stack view (no animations, minimal padding)

  • “Collapse all except active” mode

  • Multi-column layout option

  • Better yet: option to revert to the old UI that actually worked

This isn’t about preference—it’s about fundamental usability. The redesign prioritized looks over workflow efficiency, and it shows. Please listen to professional users who depend on this daily.
