Can I crop before preset applied?

I would like to crop before I apply a preset.

Currently when I apply a preset, any cropping I have done is reset.

Even using an unbinned M5 Pro with 48GB of RAM, cropping after applying 2 (AI) local adjustments is unacceptably slow.

I therefore want to crop right at the start of my workflow when it’s nice and snappy. Then apply a preset. Is this possible? mac

Thanks.

I’m on a Mac

Take a look at the preset and open it with a text editor. If there are any references to crop in the preset then try removing them. You may need to cycle PL9 in order for the changes to be picked up to an existing preset.

I just tried it and I am able to crop before applying a preset with an AI mask.

I’ll give it a try. Thank you!

I’ve got the solution for you without digging through your preset files and using a text editor:

  1. Go to Customize
  2. Find the Preset Editor module
  3. Single-click your preset
  4. Click “Edit” in the Preset Editor module
  5. In the corrections settings, you’ll see that all the modules now have a blue bar to their left
  6. You want to find the Crop module, and deselect the below checkbox. (Notice this is different than the usual toggle switch we see on the corrections modules):
  7. Now click “Edit” again in the Preset Editor module, and click “Save” when prompted.
  8. You should now be able to apply your preset without the crop being affected.
