I’m considering upgrading my main desktop from PhotoLab 9 to PhotoLab 10, but I’d like to keep PhotoLab 9 on my laptop for travel.
The laptop is relatively modest and runs PhotoLab 9 just about adequately, so I’d prefer not to upgrade it to PL10. I mainly use it while travelling for basic RAW processing and editing, then do the more demanding work on my desktop when I’m back home.
There are features in PhotoLab 10 that I’d like to take advantage of on the desktop, but I don’t necessarily need them while travelling.
If I purchase the PL10 upgrade, will I still be able to activate and use my existing PL9 installation on the laptop, using the same DxO licence/account? If so, are there any issues with activation, deactivation.
Thanks.

If PL9 is already installed on your laptop you can continue to use it. but since PL10 has three installs, why not put a copy of it on both computers?
Sort of… Yes, PL9 will continue to work on one machine when PL10 is installed on another but unless the EULA wording has changed (perhaps since DxO introduced the license management feature?) the licence for PL10 replaces that for PL9. Thus, strictly speaking even though this set up works with no errors, you shouldn’t do this.
Not that this fine hair splitting stopped me running PL7 on my old Win 10 machine along side PL9 on my Win 11 laptop and then on my new Win 11 desktop PC

If PL 9 works well on his laptop PL 10 should work equally well. I am running both on my Windows 10 i7-6700 with 24GB ram from 2016 with upgrades to an RTX 4060 and WD Black 2TB SDD. and the power supply. Performance is surprisingly good including AI masking. In my experience PL10 has been tweaked for better AI performance then PL9. Of course I can’t make any guarantees om how PL10 will perform on his laptop.
