I have a few images that were taken with an adapter (Canon lenses on a Fuji camera). DXO says there is no camera info for the images. Can DXO add back the lens and camera info?
EXIF data is added to image files by the camera that created them, not by DxO software. For the camera to add EXIF data from a non-native lens, there needs to be an electronic connection. Adapters and the lenses themselves don’t always make that possible. You can edit IPTC metadata in PhotoLab, but if I understand your problem correctly you will need to use Exiftool or similar software to write the missing EXIF data to the original image file. You’ll also need to check DxO’s supported cameras and lenses to see if there will be any benefit to this at all, as not all camera-lens combinations have optics modules by DxO. Only the camera body needs to be supported in order to process RAW files - but anything requiring lens support might not work.
Yes, thankyou… that was something I didn’t think about. I just read about it before your post. I’m aware lens info can be edited in Lightroom, but seemingly not in DXO. But, as you said, the combination wouldn’t be supported by DXO anyway.
