Bring recycle bin / tray icon back

Dear DxO team,

please bring the trash tray icon (trash can/recycle bin) back:

  • either one icon per pic (as before at PL8 et al)
  • or one central icon to delete all selcted pics

Why?
Wildlife photographers often shoot in burst mode and get thousands of pics per day. From a burst series of 30 pics only e.g. two are worth to keep (plus jpg & RAW …). So we need a quick possibility to select and delete files without using the right mouse button pop up menue. Right mouse button is too slow and includes the danger of hitting the wrong menue item.

So please bring the trash trax icon back!

Best, Joerg

PS: I’m really asking myself why your beta testers accepted the removement of the tray icon without creating a shitstorm.

Again, you are making a poor assumption on a topic with which you have no personal knowledge.

Can’t return the trashcan, but will offer an alternative that works for me when culling a large number of wildlife images.

Use the “X” key to flag an image as “reject”, while going through the images. At the end, or periodically if there are lots of images, filter for these rejects and mass delete. The “X” key is fast and the filtering provides a 2nd chance to review images before deletion if needed.

Mark, pls find my comment at the orher thread.

No one is voting? Am I the only one who want’s to have the icon back?

Once again, it is not going to happen. As I’ve pointed out before, it would interfere and cause issues with the new stacking feature which is why it was removed in the first place.

An alternative approach to deleting images would need to be created as a replacement and it would not be an icon on each thumbnail. Perhaps DxO is working on a replacement feature already. If so who knows when they will implement it. If I have to guess it probably wouldn’t be before PL 10.

Mark.

Reason enough to complain!
