I’m rather happy with this shot. We don’t see a lot of Kōtuku (White Heron, Great Egret, Ardea alba modesta) in my area, so it was a real treat to see it on Sunday morning’s (bird) photo walk.

I’m new to the forums and decided to check out “share your images” … first post I check is this one - and birds is basically the primary subject I shoot these days :slight_smile:

Whereabouts are you that you don’t have Great Egret? We have plenty here in eastern Australia. I was just processing photos of Little Egret from a trip to Kruger NP, South Africa…

We have, I think, about 100 birds at most and they breed only in one very specific location. After breeding they scatter across the country, usually solitary. That said, I’ve seen two this year in different locations.
