Before I purchase DXO Photolab... Advise, please

Hi, I trialed PL9 and was informed my current tower needs to be replaced in order to support PL. I currently use Adobe LTC and PS without any issues.

It must be nearing a new release of PL in the fall. With that in mind, I am researching a new Windows system. I don’t want to spend money on a new system and then get told it is not good enough.

Does anyone have clues on what is coming or any system recommendations?

I have most had Intel processors and Nvidia gpus. I’m not opposed to AMD, but need help there. My current CPU in Intel i9 and I was told to get and i7. It pretty confusing. Please help. Thanks very much!

Perhaps you were told to get a system that has a Core Ultra 7 CPU, which is a step up on a Core i9?

Regardless of the CPU you choose though, it is much more important to get a decent GPU.

Please consult https://download-center.dxo.com/Support/docs/PhotoLab_v9/release-notes/PL9_release-note_win_EN.pdf and refer to the recommended system requirements, not the minimum requirements …

Another thing to consider. PL10 is likely to be released sometime in September. If you were to buy PL9 now, the upgrade to PL10 would not be free.

Given that, you might want to consider investing in new hardware now (hardware that, as already been said, meets the recommended specs for PL9). Then waiting until PL 10 is released so you can run the PL10 trial on your new machine and check everything is OK before you actually buy PL.
