I use PhotoLab 9 for RAW workflow and a simple binary “pick” to select photos to edit. I then sort the PhotoLibrary by picked images. When I send one of those photos to any of the Nik Collection and apply my edits in Nik, the photo gets returned but has no (apparent) way of being picked.
On return to PhotoLab, It disappears back into the mass of photos, which depending on the shoot can be quite large, and requires resetting the filter then finding the Nik photo in the strip and applying the pick again.
Can anyone offer any advice on either an alternate method of handling this or is there a way I’m not seeing to apply the pick before returning the photo?
In PL you could add a green picker, export your (raw)file to Nik, process it and when returned you see it just next to the original (of course when sorting by name). Then add …
Thanks for the suggestion Wolfgang, but unfortunately I use the picked status as the sort. the returned .tif file just goes into the folder structure. and because the .tif is not “picked”, it doesn’t show on the scroll.
Resetting the sort defaults the scroll back to the beginning and I have to sift through all the photos to find it, which isn’t that big of a deal with 20 or 30 photos a folder, but several hundred becomes a workflow choke point.
