Annoying things in DXO PhotoLab 8 on Mac

Hi,

I’m long time DXO PhotoLab user.
Few months ago switched from version 6 on Windows to version 8 on Mac
And now want to share few most annoying thing which can be (in my opinion) easily improved/fixed.

Button behavior incnsistency
when you press tool button from palletes it opening and then closing tool on second click. When you do this from top bar you have to close it using Close button from bottom right.

Retouch tool
In PL6 on windows when mask was visible when you moved coursor away masks was hidden. Something similar will be good or at least shortcut to turn visibility of masks on and off
and biggest problem with Retouch tool !!!
compare is now usless , in old version compare in retouch mode was showing before and after retouch changes now is showing all changes without geometry, which is even more annoying when working on cropped image.

Lack of right click menu on image preview
Right click context menu is only avaiabale in image browser, then if you want to copy/paste corrextion settings you have to bring image browser or use shortcut.

Image browser location
Would be nice to have option where to have image browser (bottom/left/right). Working on ultra wide monitors is lot of unused space on left/right. Keeping image browser on bottom forcing to constantly switching it on/off.

Add option to resize Preset editor palette

Would be nice to have.

Had few more small issues but forgot about them then was not as much important

I got lots of ‘paper cut’ issues like these. But with the exception of the Retouch tool one, I would (or do) just put up with the idiosyncrasies.

I’ve been using software since before “user interface” was a term of art and it’s never what I want nor expect. Tomorrow it will be different and still not ‘right’. I’ve learned to just roll with most of them.

I know that @zkarj but also know how developers works.
If no one mention that is the problem they never fix it.
Small problems can be fixed easily and if more people mention it this can happened quicker.

Retouch tool compare is massive problem and I was suprised that no one mentioned it early (or I couldn’t find)

If no one mentions it, it never gets fixed… sure.

But if numerous users mention it, and it seems easy to fix to them, with DxO, it still may not get fixed in version after version after version. Take the suggestion to have one button to click to “wipe all my activations so I can pick the devices I want to reactivate and not be so dependent on the whims of customer support.” One-click wipe is how Adobe does it, and it seems easy to implement to me but apparently not to DxO.
