Annoying advertisement in the customize page

Hi,

I am on dxo photolab 9, and generaly I am happy with it. Today there came an update, and now there seems to be a permanent ad banner for dxo filmpack 8 above my adjustment controls.
Is there a way to remove this annoying ad?

Wouter.

Are you using the trial version of PL9, or the paid one?

I’m using the trial and found the only way to remove the annoying advert is to start a trial of FilmPack 8 as well. That made the advert disappear (plus I now get to try out FP8 if I want to).

It is annoying that there’s no way to just close the advert.

I was told by someone else that in their paid version of PL9.1 there was no advert. Hopefully that’s true. It’s awful if they’re forcing advertising on paid software.

I am using the trail version. I am buying the software tomorrow, I liked it. Good to hear there will be (hopefully) no add in the paid version…
Thanks for the reply!

From my experience, this is how it works:

  • with the trial of PL9 the FP8 ad is always shown in the interface (fair enough I would say, they give me a fully working version of PL for 30 days after all…)
  • if you buy PL9, the same ad is shown BUT there is a ‘close’ button and it’s gone forever.

Ian.
