are anyone using the AMD Ryzen AI cpu?
does the DeepPRIME function work on this?
thanks you!!!
As I understand it, all versions of DeepPRIME work on any Cpu. However, only certain Gpus are supported, i.e. you need to check which graphics card is fitted to your machine.
If I have understood correctly, a GPU based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture is integrated into this AMD chip. This could mean that support for Photolab works out-of-the-box. Someone would just have to test it - that was the intention of the question.
In these modern days state of art processors do not only come with CPU and partially GPU - they also have an NPU on board dedicated to AI operations. This is for AMD as well as for Intel or ARM processors. Microsoft is putting pressure on this as they see this as basis for their AI assistants such as Compass.
So I suppose the question is whether DeepPrime (which is AI operations) is able making use of / benefitting from those NPUs, e.g. in AMD Ryzen AI?
Great question … currently in PhotoLab settings there is only selection option “CPU only” or “<name of GPU/graphics card>”, so this appears future talk and should be something for DxO development to answer …
As of this moment , no NPU support under Windows. If the onboard GPU works and actually improves speed, i don’t know. I can test I guess, I have a laptop with Ryzen and integrated 780m, but I only used my discrete 4060 GPU so far (why wouldn’t I).
