Currently, the keywords palette is a fixed size, even when floated. As my keywords list is quite long and I have two large monitors, it feels a bit ridiculous to be stuck looking at the list through a tiny porthole.

The KWL is too short indeed.
Let me use the official PL terminology. It’s actually called the Keywords palette and is the thing that can be collapsed or floated.
The palette appears to be broken into two parts, with the bottom part labeled “Keyword list”. I generally ignore the top part. I suspect you are referring to these two sections.
