Advanced History in PL8

Hey… just noticed something and found an answer in this forum but it was for PL4.

Does the Advanced History still not retain edits after closing PL down and restarting it? It was puzzling me as I’m new to the app and wanted to see what I’d done to a photo from a week ago. But it just stated that the default preset had been applied.

On windows yes. But it seems different on the mac.

In fact, finding the history doesn’t help.
The simplest method to see your corrections is to filter the smartpalette according to active settings.

The main purpose of the history is not what has been done to the image - rather, it is How did you get there.

Filtering the smart palette does NOT show that.

Thanks Pascal - this does help a bit as I can see what ‘modifications’ have been made. But I’m guessing that the order of them might be important - hence the history option not doing what I expected it to.

Not a game changer for me right now as I’m still getting to know the various features.

The order of adjustments is predetermined by the software and you have no control over the order your adjustments are applied. The only use I have for the history is to go back to a previous editing point, or as I do, is just use undo (ctrl-z) to undo my edits.
