DPL 7 has XD but not XD2. DPR 4 has XD2 (but X-Trans files are not supported). Now DPL 8 has XD2s which is supposed to fix the XD/XD2 artefacts problem (but X-Trans files are still unsupported). Should I assume that XD2s will only appear in DPR 5 ? I guess I should, unfortunately.
DPL and DPR are doing exactly the same job regarding denoising. I don’t see any good reason for not keeping them in sync. I’m not ready to continue playing the “want-this-then-get-that-product” game. Enough is enough.
I am not sure how big the preview is in PureRaw since I don’t have a copy, but there are two preview sizes in PhotoLab. The smaller one is larger then the DeepPRIME preview Window in PL 7. The larger preview window is four times bigger than the smaller one, but the larger one is still far from full screen. It is definitely a major improvement but for those hoping for a preview the size of the editing window, this is not that. The preview windows starts at 100% zoom and doubles to 200%, 400% and 800%. Viewing the effects of DeepPRIME, XD, and XD2s below 100% zoom is not available. DeepPRIME XD2 is in Pureraw. PhotoLab’s upgraded version of it is XD2s.
