Win 10/11 runtime dependencies for DxO 9+

Hi all…

On top of the general GPU driver and Intel NPU requirements for DxO v9+, I’m trying to determine if there are additional requirements to pre-load (and keep updated) the Windows Desktop App SDK runtimes.

MSFT has been fairly aggressive in pushing components of their WinML and Windows AI surface stacks into the desktop app sdk where they then interact with NPU / GPU drivers and API calls in a very complex dance.

At my day job, we’re spending a lot of time unwinding these dependencies. We’ve come to the point where we are requiring aggressive update and maintenance policies for not just drivers, but anything we can find from MSFT that interacts with the drivers.

Has anyone had any interaction with DxO support on the issue of intertwined GPU & NPU drivers and the multiple, spread out implementations of the WinML and AI Surface stacks?

And don’t get me started yet in ONNX and OpenVINO interdependencies with these other packages and drivers……..

Thanks

I think its now not so “agressive”, nowdays its a part of the system, its a standard strategy for them (MS). Anyhow, they try to clean up the “AI mass” at least.
I think nVidia driver quality is more issue.
