I’m not interested in your apologist side-stepping.
DxO spam me all the time, incessantly. Fine. But it’s not on me to read every single piece of spam looking for major policy changes that are going to exclude me out of the upgrade policy that existed at the time of my custom.
A major policy change like this warrants a direct, unambiguous communication alerting existing licensees to this fact, warning them that they are in danger of being excluded from upgrade eligibility. That is what a decent business would do. Especially when the business spends so much time spamming my inbox in the first place, it’s not like they don’t have the time to prepare and send a simple email.
You suggest my queries aren’t genuine, that doesn’t surprise me given you are an apologist - so you are here in bad faith yourself, simply playing the role of a fanatic.
I made my queries, I got my answers, and then I became irate. There was every possibility I could have gotten answers to my queries and simply left the situation annoyed - annoyed that I somehow overlooked the email where they notified & warned us existing licensees about being at risk of exclusion from an upgrade path, due to a major policy change. But no. No such communication was made. Now that is truly maddening.
I will be ignoring you from this point, good evening.
Whats the spam everyone mentions? Im on email list and follow them on various social media I rarely see anything. Even done a YouTube with a DXO edit and they reached out privately via one of there staff in London, a great guy, still no spam.
Now that you have vented your frustration and are familiar with DxO’s terms, are you still interested in DxO software?
If so, check whether your hardware meets the system requirements. For an optimal workflow, you should aim for the recommended specifications rather than just the minimum requirements.
If you then have further questions, the long-standing members of this user forum probably can help.
did you not see the screenshot I provided ? do you think I falsified that ? created it with AI ? or just selected some especially busy month ? I promise you I have done none of those things, the screenshot is representative of what DxO are sending (me?) all the time. For years. Up until present day.
I can’t explain why you aren’t seeing the same levels of spam. perhaps your email provider does a better job than mine at filtering spam.
Considering how aggressively they are employing YouTube shills to push affiliate discount codes, all of whom are pushing the same ‘lightroom subscription bad, DxO license good’ narrative - and leaving out all the caveats regarding DxO’s licensing & upgrade policies, of course - you should hardly be surprised that DxO are engaged in spamming people’s email inboxes. Excluding yours, I guess. Though as I suggested, that may be down to your email provider filtering it out. Or maybe you got yourself off the spam list at an earlier date. I can’t explain what you do or don’t see in your inbox, only what I see in mine.
I would also like to add to this Luminar Neo. Although I don’t particularly like this software as a photo editor, it does have a few effects and tricks like to use on certain types of photos and I just use it as a plugin from Lightroom rather than a standalone editor.
BUT, I bought the lifetime license a couple of years ago and upgrades have no end in sight. I just keep getting them.
It is embarrassing when these YouTubers don’t understand how the software works. I don’t think it’s an effective way to spend your advertising budget on.
