What's the best thing about PL5?

Only saying it as I have seen it. On the clear cut stuff it has been fine here on my Mac.

Control-points and -lines have their shortcomings, too. If the subject is big enough, so the edits are not hidden (before closing the edit) by the rather big sized circles of control-points, they will not produce hard borders and they are usually more adjustable. For other subjects, control points are not precise enough or you need dozens of them which can become very distracting. It’s good to have choices. I never wished for “now a control-point would be the best” when editing in Capture One, but found the automask brush better than the one of DxO PL. Also, there are still too many lenses not supported by DxO, when on the other hand Capture One benefits of reading the inbuilt lens-firmware. Usually better than nothing.
