Sony A7Rvi pure raw support

Is anyone out there able to provide any news on the timeframe for pure raw support for the Sony A7Rvi please?

Cheers

Hi and welcome to the USER forum.

For supported cameras / lenses check Appareils supportés - DxO

Thanks for the compatibility list. How often does pure raw come out with updates? Is there any idea (even a rough one) of when it will be compatible with the Sony A7R VI? Thanks.

There are support updates on a variable periodic schedule, sometimes every month or two. When this body will be added will depend on the availability of a loaner copy of it for testing and DxO’s current testing schedule. Since this is an important camera it will probably get a high priority. However there is a potential caveat because of the timing.

Historically, after around mid-late July there are no more camera/lens updates while DxO prepares for the release of the new version of PhotoLab sometime in September. When PhotoLab 10 is released, new camera/lens support will also be released for current and recent versions of PhotoLab and PureRaw. Unfortunately as a result of the timing, unless DxO is able to acquire a loaner copy of the recently released A7R VI quickly, and expedites testing it, you may not see support for it until sometime in September.

Hi Mark, thanks for the detailed response — really useful context on the release schedule. Do you know if it is an option for DxO to accept a loaner unit directly from a photographer rather than going through Sony? I’m based in London and have one available that I’d be happy to loan to speed up the process if that’s something that would help DxO?

Thanks Dan

I cannot say with absolute certainty that DxO will not accept a loaner from a customer. I tend to doubt it because of both logistical and potential liability issues. You can try to contact them and ask.
