I bought the new PL 8 last week and it isn’t functioning like it should. First of all in the folders list in PL 8 the desktop folder is listed but not active…all other folders are active.
If I right click on a raw image on my desktop and try to open in PL 8 the window opens but no images appear. It seems there is a problem with not having the desktop active. It works fine in my PL 6.
I can open images fine in PL 8 if the images are on an external drive. Just doesn’t function correctly from desktop images and folders. I’m stumped.

Are you on macOS or Windows?
Do any raw files work?
What kind of raw is it and from which camera?
is it supporte by PL8? Appareils supportés - DxO
Also if your on Mac, be sure you give PL permissions in macOS settings to access the folders and drives needed.
Otherwise you might be a bit restricted.

I’m on a Mac Studio M2 Max and OS Sonoma.
I have Sony and Panasonic raws and neither works from the desktop which is inactive in the PL 8 software. Everything works fine from my desktop in PL 6 as I said.
From external drives all works fine also. I don’t know why the desktop folder under folders in PL 8 is not active.
Where in System Settings do I give permissions to DXO PL 8?
After looking through my System Settings under privacy & security I found the permission to access my desktop…problem fixed. Thank you so much…easily solved.
