I agree. To answer Alec’s question, I use a Philips 298P4QJEB monitor, calibrated using the latest Argyll CMS - the instrument being an Xrite X1; and I run my TIFFs through AfterShotPro to soft proof - with the printers’ ICC profile - them before I send them for printing. This does necessitate moving them from the W10 platform in which PhotoLab works onto my Linux box - that has no graphics card, hence I don’t host a Windows VM. It’s clunky, but it works. But I should dearly like a smoother experience.
