Many times I want to try different settings or local adjustments on a previously processed image. and I’ll make a virtual copy for that so my original images stays that way and the virtual copy can be simply deleted if the changes do not work out good.
Unfortunately it happens particularly when doing a batch forget the step of first making the virtual copy and start making a change to the master image. The steps are easily undone, however, the status of the master has changed to modified and won’t change back to processed when everything is undone.
This is annoying and disturbs my process. Is there any trick of resetting that processed status? Is it maybe written somewhere in the dop file?
Yes I do have backups and yes I could load a backup disk and restore it but it’s a hassle when I am busy with other things.
I know exactly what you mean, and I’m afraid I don’t have a solution. It’s somewhat annoying that the “processed” state doesn’t re-apply, even if you return all settings to what they were when it was first exported. It’d be nice if it saved that “exported” state so it could be restored, including “processed” as a flag.
Bulk changes should also be saved into edit history. They don’t seem to be. Terrible nuisance when multiple photos are accidentally selected when one makes a change. User error, but it does happen every now and again.
I looked into the dop-file. There is an entry for ProcessingStatus changing from 3 for presumably processed to 6 for presumably 6 for changed.
However after closing Dxo, then changing it and starting Dxo again didn’t change it in the file browser. Maybe the status also is stored in the Dxo database. That’s over 1Gig in my system.
