Question before buying

I don’t think @gerarto would necessarily disagree with that. He just pointed out that your more general statement that, "X-Trans sensors are not supported in PureRaw 4. " was not completely accurate. If you had specifically indicated that DeepPRIME XD2s for X-Trans sensors is not supported in PureRaw 4 I am confident he would not have posted his comment.

I suppose you’re correct but the fact remains that the top tier mode for Pureraw 4 is not an option for me so my point is that I myself don’t want to pay for a feature upgrade that I can’t use even if its somewhat compatible without that feature.

I don’t think many of us would argue with that point since you did not get what you paid for. The way things are going Pureraw 5 may be released before Fuji shooters get XD2s support in Pureraw 4. In fact, at this point, they may not even bother putting it into Pureraw 4 at all and wait for Pureraw 5 to be released.

From what I experienced DXO is really dedicated for portrait work.

Why would you think that? It certainly is not the case in my experience and I have been using it for years. It is a very capable broad based editor.

I never do any portrait work. I have used PhotoLab for the last 7 years and find it superior to anything else for my needs. While it has its flaws, PhotoLab does so many things so well and so easily that even after constantly checking out its competition’s upgrades, I always go back to it as my primary editor.

I apologize for the typo. I would write DXO is not dedicated for portrait!

You are right. It was just a wrong typo, I would write is not mainly dedicated for portrait.

That is correct. However, PhotoLab has a number of tools that with experience will allow you to get similar results on portraits as other software with dedicated portrait features.

Indeed. I can only reiterate what Mark has said, whilst it is not “dedicated” in the direction of portraits it is still very capable in that area.
