Problem with switch from library to customise

I really must read user guide more thoroughly but would appreciate some help.

I thought when I selected photos from the library they would appear at the bottom of the Customise screen. I’m sure that was happening previously but no longer. I can no longer see one phot to be processed and cannot see the export key. I must have changed something as this wasn’t happening before.

Help would be appreciated or direction to the relevant part of the user guide as I couldn’t find it.

Switching from PhotoLibrary to Customize and vice versa preserves selections for both PL8.9 and PL9.1 on my Win11 24H2. Never seen export button disappear.

Please specify your OS and PL versions – maybe it’s specific to some Macs only and perhaps it was fixed in PL9.1.1/Mac released today.

Yes its is odd, I’m sure it was ok previously. I’m using a MacBook Pro M4 pro 24Gb. Os 15.6.
Have downloaded latest up date but not checked it yet, but as I said I’m sure it was OK in earlier processing.

Check the 9.1.1 update. If it still fails, wait for Mac users to respond, then elevate to DxO support if no solution found. Mark your topic with Mac flag.

OK, I have partly solved this in that I can now see my photos for editing (user error!!) however I thought I would only import selected photos for editing but all the photos in that folder appear.

Can I just select photos for editing or is this expected activity? Sorry if I am misunderstanding or missed something.

PhotoLab does automatic import of any directory you change to in PhotoLibrary. It updates the database, prepares (some) previews and thumbnails in the background. To limit the images displayed, you may use ‘Filter images’ button found on the left above the filmstrip. However, there’s no option to display only manually selected images. You have to change some attribute for a group of selected photos, like color label, rating, or tag for that purpose.

Thank you, I had missed that step.

…and occasionally, I had PL not show the film strip, either by bug or (probably) my handling. It helps to know the following:

  • Press the TAB key to hide/unhide the sidebars
  • Press shift-TAB to hide/unhide the film strip
  • Drag the film strip’s upper edge to show thumbnails as big or small as you like, and observe that reducing the film strip hight will hide the film strip unexpectedly.

The short instructional videos on this page may be helpful for you:

(They are displayed in French. Don’t worry, they’re in English. If necessary, you can change the display language.)
