PL10 minimum requirements

I’ve got a Intel core 9700k, minimum requirements states 10000 as minimum. Does this means I’m not able to upgrade? GPU and memory wise shouldn’t be a concern and PL9 runs smoothly. Really? If someone has upgraded with lower than minimum requirements and it works fine, please let me know.

Cheers

You should be fine, but there’s a trial version you can experiment with for 30 days to find out for sure. I’d strongly recommend doing that even if you do meet minimum specs.

PL is too expensive to not run the trial.

I am running PL 10 on an old Windows 10 computer with a i7-6700 @3.40ghz processor and 24gb of ram. It was upgraded with a new power supply, an Nvidia RTX 4060, and a WD Black 2TB SDD for the C Drive. While it is not a speed demon PL 10 runs smoothly and is reasonably fast for such an old processor and there are no issues with combined AI masking and XD3 exports. The images I process are primarily 24.5 mp raw files from my full frame Nikon Zf .

Mark.

I have 64 gb of RAM and Intel Arc with 12 GB VRAM. If yours is running reasonably well then mine should too, even a bit faster I guess.

Thanks for the detailed answer, and everyone previously. I’ll try the trial before hitting the buy button for sure.

And another question. Can I trial PL10 without uninstalling PL9?

Install your PL 10 trial in a new folder – and make sure you keep the PL 9 installer.

Concerning the hardware requirements and settings in PL, also, search the forum for Arc …

I would also say creat a separate folder for imiges as if you go back dops from a latter version usually don’t work in a earlier version as it lacks the very changes you are trying our

I use Intel Arc B570 10GB, just fine.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6 GHz, 6 core), Ram: 32GB.
Faster CPU always welcome, but PL runs in all x86 CPU, not check the CPU type, etc.

Same processor here (actually the overclocked K version, running at 4.5 Ghz), but with 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 3070 card. And Windows 11 (not officially supported by my CPU, but it runs great).

And I am truly pleased so far with the performance and stability of PL10, it has LESS lag than 9 or 8, even when moderately using AI masking. I will definitely upgrade my licence, it’s one of the best PL releases in years, and it’s nice to see it perfectly usable on a machine which at the time was at the top but which is now 11 years old (apart from the GPU).

I made a few note in here: [DXO10 Performance - #51 by andras.csore]
I copy the main point to here:

I can’t test it, but i think it’s can works even far below spec GPU. Its even looks logical from DxO.

Actually even in PL9 the GPU type (older, slower) doesn’t really matter - just works. Just slower (as-it-is GPU performance). Even 4GB GPU works in PL9 fine - until PL runs out GPU memory - but manual ONLY AI masking works + DP3 export (and not DP3 XD) works.
