This is an excellent refinement to Soft Proofing’s UI - as it makes it clear that Intent (Perceptual & Relative) has relevance ONLY when the target is a printer ICC Profile.
@John-M If it wasn’t for your post I would not have known PL8.2 was available, the standard update banner failed to activate so I would have continued with PL8.1 in blissful ignorance!?
The Release notes are as useless as ever and DxO still haven’t worked out how to name the release files to include the version in the title.
They did use version numbers for a time but then remembered who in control and stopped. As for release notes even support doesn’t look to know whats been fixed so no change there
I know I used those releases. They do at least provide embedded version numbers now, I complained to them about that as well and at least that changed.
Some months ago, when users were complaining that they couldn’t revert because the later release had overwritten the download of the previous version, I investigated writing a program in PureBasic to use the embedded Version to copy the release file and create another version with a “proper” name.
Given I am a novice with the language and had to find bits of code from the PureBasic site and forum I made a program in 90 minutes so how hard would it be for DxO to do the same thing and release properly labelled releases!?
PL8.0 without any versioning, PL8.0 after I renamed it using my PureBasic program and PL8.2 after I have downloaded with my revised naming (when I remember to do it that way).

You would have thought just typing the version number onto the program ready to down load would do. After all that what many of us do when we download it!
NB for those of us still on PL7, this fix is also in the v7.11.1 update
