PhotoLab Importing Multiple Copies

Joanna, I have always used Apple’s Photos and have always set my cameras to shoot both jpg and raw. Now that I have been testing PL6 you are correct, I can create a jpg, tiff, etc. by exporting them.

Based on your suggestion, using PL6 I now have begun to only shoot raw and then create a jpg when I export the photo. Thanks for the tip. And also, for some reason, no more multiple copies shooting only raw.

My 2014 Mac works great, is in perfect condition and I don’t have a desire to upgrade. I am not a professional photographer and really don’t need the latest processing software.

Since I purchased a new Canon EOS R6 Mack II, my Apple’s Photos will not work with my raw photos. Hence, the reason I am testing PL6.

PL6 is the only DxO version that will work with my computer and so far, that’s really all I need for what I do.

I can purchase PL6 by purchasing PL8 and then I can contact the DxO help desk and they will then give me a code to start using PL6. Than’s how it was explained to me.

My plan is to wait until DxO runs their Black Friday sale and purchase PL8 and then contact DxO for the code to start using PL6.

If and when I upgrade my computer, I’ll probably upgrade my version of PhotoLab as well.

May I ask how you obtained a test version of PL6? It has not been available to download for over a year now?

Explained by whom?

There were a post about this that someone was guided by DxO support to purchase a license for the latest version and then support could enable that code to be valid for a previous non-supported version of PL.

Joanna - I obtained a test version by contacting the DXO help desk and told them my computer would not work with the newer versions and they told me PL6 would work with my computer and it does. They sent me the download for the trial.

Again, as explained by the help desk - Riley is the name the person at the help desk is using. I asked Riley if they were a real person or a virtual assistant and they said they were a real person.

Should I be concerned?

Not at all … Riley is really real.
