PhotoLab 8.1 crash dumps on exit -- solved

Not a good start to 8.2 its crashing and refusing to run. Will down load new install and try again. New download and repair install worked. Never had that before!

It seems so far that PL8.2 update has fixed the problem described in OP. I did stress PL8.2 in eight runs. Previously I would have 2-3 crashes, but none of them now. None of the following in the logs, which might have something to do with crashes:

DxOCorrectionEngine - Error | Node prepare failed for node ** InpaintingEstimation **: GenerateEstimationImage execute cancelled

So maybe it’s related to @JoPoV crashes indeed. I’ve used recently quite a lot of Retouch corrections, so a kind of local adjustments (inpainting)…

Strange, PL8 hasn’t notified me when an update is released, whereas up until now it has done so every time and I let the hub open every time I start pl. I had to clic on ā€œcheck for updateā€ to see it.
Will install it.
But I don’t have any series to process immediately.
And support didn’t respond me since I gave them files they asked.

Yes - That was true for me too … Curious indeed !

not here either – and also with the PL7 update

Same for me with both PL7 and PL8 - had to do a Check for updates…

In my case I was notified during startup about PL8 update but not for PL7.
On Tuesday, while starting PL8.1/Win, update check worked as expected:

#

Today, starting PL7, I wasn’t notified automatically, but manual check worked:

Maybe the activation server was overloaded?

PL 8.2.1 seems to have fixed the issue with the dumps. I do not get any dumps anymore.

It also seems like PL 8.2.1 also has improved stability. 8.2.1 has not crashed for me so far. I estimate that any earlier PL 8.x.x would have crashed 2-3 times during the same time and operations as I have done now with PL 8.2.1. Great work DXO.

Had the same problem with 8.2.1 download from notification from the program was a faulty install and had to re download from account and run a repair install (wanted me to run it as administrates this time never had that before.

The problem was solved some time ago, so I’ve changed the title.
