Minimalist

After a bit of cogitation and discussion, I was wondering if it might be better to leave more fine detail in the rope, rather than what looks like a lino cut…

Opinions welcome.

I think this version is better but, personally, I think there’s too much rope in the picture for it to be categorised as ‘minimalist’.

Hmmm. Just how much is too much?

What if it were just one rope intertwined with itself?

It depends on how long the piece of rope is :knot:

OK. Now surely this must count as minimalist?

Yes, I think that counts as minimalist.

How about this one? Two planets (Saturn, the less than circular blob at the top, with Jupiter to the right and below) plus Jupiter’s four Galilean moons is perhaps getting a bit crowded?

How about this one?

Do you mean something like this, a so called Moebius Loop?

Umm, sorry but the pedant in me can’t let you get away with that. It’s not a Mobius strip because it has two sides. A Mobius strip only has one side:

Is it minimalist enough?

I really like what I’m seeing here. Maybe DxO forums are not the most convenient place to have a gallery, but it’s really nice to see the work of people who are in the forums here. So, more galleries, please!

Here is some minimalist imagery from a beach in Oregon USA. It was a fantastic day for shooting, one I still recall fondly years later.

Thanks for starting this Joanna! And Happy New Year!

That’s beautiful, Pat.

Beautifully simple

Another part for @stuck: a wormhole! It’s real to see here in my room. And -

by the way - I would like to apologize for my behavior.

Nice idea.
Intriguing.

Looks like a classic.
Perhaps I would cut it slightly on the left (?).

You can’t bluff your way out of this game  I’ll see your wormhole and raise you a singularity:
