I transfer my photos from card to my Mac mini M1 and do a rough culling first.
Then I run the server version of PhotoSupreme as my DAM which copies and ingests the photos to my local network storage on another Mac mini M1.
From that I do all my work in PL7.
I have no performance problems at all.
