Would it be useful to start a list of editors compatible with the new High Fidelity Compressed DNG format? The results could change over time, so to be fair to the developers please post if you hear of updates to products that introduce compatibility if it’s not there currently.
Luminar Neo v 1.27.0 - Limited compatibility:
Images open but they aren’t treated as a RAW file. Presets will apply but they look very different because they’re processed at the rendered RGB layer (not the RAW layer).
ON1 v 2026.2 - Full compatibility:
Images open and are treated the same as the original RAWs and the same as PR6 uncompressed DNGs. Presets apply faithfully and look identical to the original camera RAW file.
Windows 11 25H2 - Not compatible:
Windows isn’t an an editor of course, but it’s useful to know you can’t view PR6 compressed DNGs in the Photos app, or even as thumbnails in Windows 11 file explorer.
