Hello. I’m stumped. Is there a way to get the tint lower than -200? I’m working on an infrared 850nm and to white balance the properly, I need to go further beyond the current tint limit. In Lightroom, you can create a preset like -500 and use this a the zero point, allowing further flexibility. But I cannot find a way in Photolab. Thank you!
You can easily edit a preset with a text editor and set tint to -500…
but PL handles values to -200 only and the effort will be in vain.
You can still try to go to your target rendering by playing with the tone curves. Depending on what you start with and do, there is a risk of clipping a channel.
You can always attach your unedited RAW and describe what you want (e.g. sunshade should be neutral) and some of us can try how far we get.
For those who fall upon this thread in the future: the best and easiest way to handle the white balance is to do it in camera. Eg.: go in camera menu, force it to read a grey card and white balance from it. When importing, DxO Photolab will use this as the “As Shot” setting. Do not try to move the white balance sliders from there or Photolab will then revert back to its stupid Temperature and Tint limitations. It is better to use the HSL wheel to adjust the main channel to taste.
