I’m not sure this is the case for you, but …Some functions in PL 9 are updated, such as different local adjustments and the photos need to be opened and updated before export
Might be but with many 1000s its a pain if to know you have to reprocess them to be able to export doesnt look good to me. But I should be used DXO not doing backward compatablity by now but I never had it hit exporting befor
@John7 , can you see the “old” images with their edits in your new PhotoLab?
If so, PL has imported the images and applied the old edits, and for that. PL needs to render the images with all your previous edits. This would then mean that import and forward migration work as expected.
The messages you get are from export, so there must be something that causes the errors, be it from rendering (unlikely if your previews look okay) applying a special colour profile to writing to disk and anything in between. You could try export to other formats, locations and with other parameters (size, colour space etc.) and see if all exports don’t work (→ possible drive access issue) or some work, which would make the situation more complicated.
Usually, one can see more details about the errors by clicking on them and if that works, these details might help DxO to debug your case via a ticket → support.dxo.com.
I’d recommend that you don’t try to edit too many of these old images as this will make PL9 overwrite the old .dop files. Keep those old edits intact until the issue has been fixed.
If you have a backup of your PC, keeping the dop files intact should be no problem.
Thanks will have a look when I can. I ended up downloading the jpgs from flicker to pass on to the friend who wanted them. It was much less hassle than fighing PL to get them
