Generative erase tool

Generative erase tool, such as the generative AI erase tool in Photoshop, or GenErase in Luminar Neo, would be a nice additional feature in DxO PhotoLab. Clone brush works ok for small objects, but larger ones require more advanced erase tool.

To be useful, the quality of the generative erase tool would have to be on par with the best ones on the market currently; the end results would have to look natural part of the scene, not some weird artefact.

What I’d like (and people have already complained about it) is if the clone tools would work on the black edges of a photo after levelling and cropping. The canvas should automatically expand to at least include additional edge space created by horizon or perspective.

Content Aware Fill for black edges

I would thinking the other day. DXO lens correction and ability to show full image with correction but also with empty edges is great. And often going to Photoshop is required to fill in those empty edges and make the image utilize maximum of what camera could capture. But I was thinking, would it be possible at some point in the future to see native DXO feature to fill in areas that are outside the corrected image, so we don’t have to go to Photoshop for it? Ok with you Alex,

I make many hand held panoramas and some times, on the edges, small détails are missing.

I wish a smart repair tool ; it is easy for Sky, grass but moré difficult for other objects.

I voted for that since it is a useful feature.
BUT:
I currently test Lightroom, Luminar Neo and DXO PL to replace my very old Capture One (or maybe I come to the conclusion I say with CO and get a new version).

Although DXO does not have a generative erase, the results were considerably better than those of Luminar Neo !!
I was really surprised !!
(LR was even better, but the entire user interface, handling, and catalog concept of DXO is much better than LR. And of course Luminar as well because Luminar was really disappointing. So I have decide between DXO or CO …)
