DxO Software - New Cameras & Lenses support (13 January 2026 update)

@Marie Still no release date for the outstanding Meike 85mm F1.4 STM?

Thank you @Marie

I am running FB and VP from within Photolab. Do these get updated with Photolab, or is there something else that needs to be done to ensure these are up-to-date also?

Thank you,

Steve

They are in PhotoLab updates.

Mark

I had to install them separately. (Mac)

Then you use the Stand-Alone versions, @swmurray uses them (as I do) only by activating them within PhotoLab, then the code is enabled and already there.

Okay, but I can’t see in PL9 whether the latest version is installed or in use. Therefore, I installed VP and FP separately. The standalone versions still had the older version number.

Separately how?

The standalone version

I have used every version of PhotoLab and FilmPack since PhotoLab 1 in late 2017. Other than in 2017 when I briefly installed the standalone version of the the current FilmPack 5 Elite, I have never installed the stand-alone version of FilmPack. The same is true of Viewpoint. All of the FilmPack and ViewPoint features available from within PhotoLab are already built in to it and are updated when new PhotoLab updates are available. All that is needed is a license for FilmPack or Viewpoint to unhide the features already built into PhotoLab. Many of us have known this for years and never install the stand-alone versions .

That’s correct, but if you need the standalone version, you’ll have to update separately. And if the application doesn’t show an update notification, perform the update via your shop account.

Oh, I didn’t know that. I’ve always updated the standalone versions. So, can I uninstall the standalone versions?

If you don’t need them for use with third party apps, no problem at all

If you are not specifically using the stand-alone version, you can uninstall it. The FilmPack options in PhotoLab will still be available. I haven’t installed any of the stand-alone versions in years. All you need is the FilmPack license which you can enter directly into PhotoLab.

Perhaps I am not asking the question properly, or not understanding the answers. It’s sort of a two-part question.

Part 1. The hot-fix updates appear to be directed towards Photolab issues so was supprised there would anything at all required for FP or VP users. So asking if Photolab 9 looks at my current PF and VP licenses and ensures any “bugs” in the FP and VP updates are included in the PL update. It doesn’t appear as if these add-on licenses include any software add-ons, but what to ask.

I understand that there is no need to download the standalone version of FP or VP is using these tools within Photolab. But purchasing a license to do so is still required to “unlock” these tools within Photolab.

The second question then becomes how far back can old licenses of FP or VP be allowed to unlock the appropriate Photolab tools? Are all point releases of FP and VP automatically embedded in PL updates? What about major releases of FP or VP? Are they automatically embedded into PL updates without purchasing updated individual licenses?

For example, the DxO compatibility chart shows that FP 6 is not compatible with Mac OS 26. If so, does a FP6 license still work in PL9 on a Mac running OS 26 to “unlock” all FP tools? Same with VP 3.2 - 3.4 which are not compatible on Mac OS 15 or 26. Do these old licenses carry over to the latest version of PL on the latest OSs to keep FP and VP tools up-to-date within PL even if the stand alone software is not compatible? It is reasonable that the older versions of software will, logically, not be carried forward to new major updates or OS changes. So how does this work with licenses used within Photolab?

To be clear, I have updated and downloaded to FP8 and VP5 as I still use them occasionally for non-Photolab images and to maintain overall compatibility across software. I use other tools to process phone images and non-raw images from others. I use PS for layers for composite, panos and stacked images for the layer support I am familiar using. As these tools and Photolab evolve, it looks like my use of these stand alone tools goes away.

Thanks

Yes, that is the advantage of this “embedded” version: if PL itself is executable, the activated FP/VP licenses will also work. This means that FP/VP can remain executable even after the operating system has been discontinued.
I had VP1 running for years.

Thanks @Marie !

Glad to see that Sony A7 V is already on the road map. Enjoy Xmas !

@Marie Is the DJI Flip going to be added to the road map? It came out almost a year before the DJI Mini 5 Pro and still isnt added yet. I did submit a request online for it when it first came out

@Marie Is there any chance that a module for the Viltrox 35mm F1.2 LAB Z will be available in the foreseeable future?

Btw.: The Rollei online shop is offering a 10% discount on all products in the shop for another 8 days (at least in Germany). I took advantage of this opportunity to buy the 35mm F1.2 for my Nikon Zf. It’s a fantastic lens, very sharp, with fantastic bokeh, and the autofocus is really fast.

@Marie – Relating to the recently added Sony FE 100mm F2.8 Macro GM OSS lens – this lens supports both 1.4x and 2.0x Sony teleconverters, and is one of the main selling points of this lens. Is there an ETA for the lens modules that support these?
