Curious About PC/Laptop You Use to Support Photolab

I rebuilt my desktop PC last fall, thankfully before RAM and hard drive prices skyrocketed.

AMD Ryzen 7 9700
MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi Motherboard
32GB DDR5 RAM
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB
The motherboard supports up to 4 NVME, although it only supports 2 at Gen 5. Because it was a rebuild, and I was buying some new parts, I have 2 NVME and 2 SATA SSDs in the case; all my spinning hard drives are in a DAS box outside the PC. It runs PhotoLab, Lightroom, Photoshop, Da Vinci Resolve all fine. I would really suggest visiting Puget Systems website, they offer a lot of guidance for building workstations for specific applications, and the site has comparison tests for various hardware in use cases.

Since portability is important to me, I run DxO PL v 9.11.0 an M3 MacBook Air with 16 Gb RAM and a 2 TB hard drive (I like to keep RAW files around for future re-editing). It’s fine for amateur use, considering that I was running PL 5 when I bought this laptop.
