I’m a recent convert to DxO PhotoLab 8 and do not find the User Interface or the User Experience to be atrocious. I quite like it, in fact.
Capture One and the the various versions of Lightroom, as well as the many less popular choices of post processing software, present you with a variety of interfaces. Find one that you like and stop using one that you find “atrocious!”
