I recently had a horror show experience trying to get a new license code for DxO FilmPack (I’m the only user). I’ve paid for three versions, but DxO’s new position is that you only have a current license and it can only go on two computers (so I couldn’t even install older versions for which theoretically I should have a few authorisations). It took over six messages to finally get a new authorisation out of Riley.
It’s easier to download a license-free version than use one’s own paid-for license – this is Adobe/Microsoft territory.
DxO seems to revel in customer alienation techniques these days. I’ve stopped recommending DxO software to most people. Very sad, as the software itself has merit.
