B&W Ilford HPS5 Plus + Plustek Scan, then PL4

Yes, I noticed that yesterday. It is unfortunate because we are no longer able to expand an image to full resolution which makes it difficult to see fine detail. Great shot, by the way!

What I found most surprising about the Z 16-50mm was the contrast quality and excellent sharpness from edge to edge even when wide open. The focus ring is also surprisingly smooth at this price point. After all, it is just a $296 USD, four ounce, plastic kit lens. It significantly exceeded my expectations…

I generally shoot wide rather than long and the overwhelming majority of my images are well within the 16-50 focal range. As a result this lens on the Z fc is a perfect lightweight walk around kit for me, with a total weight of only 18 oz. I also shoot in low light very often with no flash. To meet that requirement, and still keep things as light as possible, I plan to add the Z 28mm f/2.8 SE and the Z 40mm /f/2 primes. If I really need longer shots I still have my Canon 7D Mark II and several longer focal length lenses.

Mark.
