Running latest version of Nik Silver Efex, 9.10. All tooltips in Silver Efex are empty, i.e. they contain no text at all and are completely blank. This also applies to the preset names which is very inconvenient. When editing portrait size images where the pane contains two columns. The preset names are too short to be useful. Hovering over them reveals the empty tooltip.
Hope this can be fixed in an update to Silver Efex 9.
It has always been like that, and users complain about it.
Hovering over them reveals the empty tooltip.
I’m still using Nik 8 and just checked: yes, a tooltip appears when you hover the mouse over one of the preset descriptions… which is most likely the solution.
Running Nik Collection 9.10 on MacOS Sequoia 15.7.9 and all Nik Collection tools have a tooltip issue, i.e. the tooltips are blank and contain no text. This applies to all the tools in the Collection. Hovering over a keyword that should show a tooltip, just reveals an empty box. Is this just me or are other MacOS users experiencing a similar issue? I’m not in a position to test this on Windows.
Fwiw, PhotoLab9 doen’t have the same issue. All tooltips are shown correctly there.
I have exactly the same problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling Nik Collection 9 has not helped. It happens irrespective of whether I launch Nik as a standalone or from within PL9 or Affinity. Bit of a nuisance because I’m a new user and I need all the tips I can get! It worked when I first bought it (a couple of days before the release of Nik 9) but the tips have disappeared since then - maybe an update bug?
This only seems to happen when you set your appearance in system settings to: Dark.
If you change this to Light, it will show the tool tips and does not display in a black bar. Make sure to quit after you have changed your appearance to Light.
