Support for FITS file format
« on: March 19, 2018, 08:41:25 pm »
I see this was asked for previously. The number of people using this format is growing rapidly. See how popular forums such as cloudy nights are amongst others for sky imaging.

Along with this CMOS cameras offer great benefits for other photography, very high exposure speeds for wildlife photography being just one. No shutter burn out when taking high frame numbers etc.

I use an Altair 20mb camera both connected to my Nikon lens and telescopes for day time use as well as popular deep space imaging.  DXO would gain a lot of new users if it could accept fits files and offer the prime tool.

especially as quick editing to examine file quality is a void with fits files currently. Why let photoshop rule when DXO could take a strong position?

Thanks Rob

No response? Shame as there are Astrophotographers looking for a simpler/quicker  to use alternative to photoshop to partner Astro specific applications.

The DXO prime would have been a very useful tool but without support for fits files DXO rules out users of cmos cameras.

As prime doesnt work on tiff files either there is no benefit to purchasing.
