Seeking ≈7mm lens for micro 4/3 camera
« on: July 15, 2018, 03:48:42 pm »
Hello, I need a 7mm (15mm in 35 equiv) lens to do real estate photo with my Lumix GX80/85.
I want it to have a PhotoLab module to benefit from its optical corrections, but the only two I could find cost 400€ and that's twice my budget.
Are there any other ?

Hello,

wide angle lenses for micro four-thirs are
  • Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm F4 Asph
  • M. Zuiko Digital ED 7-14mm F2.8 PRO
  • M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm F1.8 Fisheye Pro
  • Panasonic Lumix G Fisheye 8mm F3.5
  • Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18 mm F2.8-4 ASPH
  • M.ZUIKO DIGITED 9-18mm F4-5.6
And I agree they are expensive, all over 400€ if not 1000€.
I can only advise you to look at the second hand market or to test adapter and 4/3 lenses (PhotoLab has module for them) or for other mount but PhotoLab wn't propose a module for that.

Thanks.

I see modules for these 2 but no lab tests.

Tests are done by DxO Mark and now we are 2 different companies so I have no access or influence on their planning.

Tests and suport of lenses have always been separated anyway because protocol are completely different.

That's a serious problem because when photographers who use PhotoLab and seek to buy a new lens they use dxomarks.com to find one, they don't necessarily go though the list of available modules.
