Shooting Square, Image Preview in Manual ?
« on: February 08, 2018, 02:44:37 pm »
Just got the DXO One and am loving it
But am surprised about these two things
Wondering if any one else feels likewise 😊

Would love to have a Square Format option in the presets
Have been shooting only Square images since film
Had modified all our film cameras to be Square Format
This was from 8x10 to HalfFrames

Second, does the exposure adjustment not track in Preview when shooting in Manual?
When dialing in exposure compensation  in any of the auto modes the screen will get lighter or darker, but in Manual this doesn’t seem to happen?

Thanks for your feedbacks!
You're right! Preview exposition is not impacted in manual mode. In fact, preview is mailny aimed to adjust framing and scene composition, so for all modes, we'll use for preview the actual aperture, and other parameters are set to have a correctly exposed image (+/- EV bias). You can have an indication on actual exposition of captured image at the bottom center of the screen in advanced display mode.
Regarding your first point, our camera does not provide square format so you will have to use editing solutions to crop your image once shooted.
