How to set black and white points in image?
« on: September 18, 2017, 09:10:41 pm »
Does any one know how I would set Black and White points in my images. I have a project I'm working on that requires these exact settings.

Maximum shadow density - RGB...10/10/10
8. Minimum highlight density - RGB....250/250/250

Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Use Tool 'DxO Smart LIghting'. In top panel choose Uniform, then in Mode drop-down menu 'DxO OpticsPro 7'. You will then see sliders for Black and White Points.

Unfortunately in DxO 12=PhotoLab, these mode options have been dropped and edits made using them no longer carry through. If you value this adjustment, keep a copy of DxO 11 when you upgrade.

Thinking about this 'in background' this morning, I realise you can adjust the B & W points simply using the Tone Curve.

However the effect of doing this and adjusting Gamma in the Tone Curve, do not have the same effect as the DxO OpticsPro v7 edit. Best try both
