change applied lens correction module..
« on: April 07, 2017, 07:14:35 pm »
Hi!

I can't figure out how to change a applied lens correction module from one to another in my photos. By mistake i selected the wrong correction module and i want another one, but i can't find out how to pick another module. Any help would be appreciated.

DxO says the modules are in use and that stops me from removing them and selecting another lens correction module for my photos.

Hi Magnus,

Till the Database of DoP has information about images in Projects using a certain lens+camera modul combination, refuse to delete modules.
1. Quit from DoP.
2. Go to 'C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\DxO Labs\DxO OpticsPro 11\Database\' and rename the 'OpticsProDB.opdb' file.
3. Start DoP and delete any existing module. DoP will generate an empty Database.
4. Quit from DoP.
5. Go to 'C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\DxO Labs\DxO OpticsPro 11\Database\', where delete the existing 'OpticsProDB.opdb' and rename back the previously renamed 'OpticsProDB.opdb' file.
5. Start DoP and select for the particular file any new module. The existing Database will demand the missing module for your image anyhow.

Thanks a lot for your helpful reply Bencsi,i appreciate it. This workaround should not be necessary, i hope the team will fix it in a future update.

Actually.. this trick did not get the job done properly. DxO still applies the wrong lens correction module and i can also not make it accept a new correction module.

What is the module file name you deleted ?

I deleted them all, but that didn't solve the problem. The specific module i wanted to get rid of was the Canon EOS 5D Mark III + Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM with EF 2x III. This module, especially the lens is something i do not even use or own.

What i do have is a Canon EF 400mm 2.8L USM lens and i want the only 400mm 2.8L lens correction module which exists in DxO applied here, but instead the application insists on applying the one i don't want or own.

I would surprise, if DoP would able to load - with an empty Database - any camera+lens module without your consent. Are you sure the Database was empty. To check, see whether you have any Project ? If yes, the Database is not an empty one.
