Stacking effects in Filmpack 5 - masking possible?
« on: December 02, 2016, 11:26:08 pm »
Hello - new to DXO, excited to be using the software. Filmpacks seems like a lot of fun and I would love to get some more complex effects, as well as ability to mask.

Is this feasible? I am trying to do this directly in the FP5 program on Windows. Thanks!

Since none of the DxO products have a masking capability, I doubt we'll see anything like that anytime soon. If you have PS, you could use the FP5 plugin to do what you want or you could output different versions of the image, then composite in your editor of choice.

Sorry to contradict; more exactly there is the Dust tool. Unfortunately, its functionality is limited to hide the original content, not change its parameters.

Unfortunately, I don't think the dust tool's functionality is what the OP is asking for...

You are right Alan, it is not DxO is asking for. However, it is a local adjustment, selected by a kind of pen. It means for me, it is not hopeless to wait for extended functionality. Even it is not part of FP5.
